As a Registered Psychologist, Arlene has over 20 years’ experience as a career and rehabilitation consultant, trainer and university lecturer in government, private enterprise and not for profit sectors. Arlene works with employees of all ages and levels of seniority including the disabled, indigenous Australians and those from non-English speaking backgrounds.
Committed, sensitive and achievement oriented, Arlene is passionate about supporting and advising people through their life cycle, helping them to accept diversity, manage transition, realise their potential and achieve personal and professional goals.
One of Arlene’s key strengths lies in her ability to develop rapport quickly and to develop a sound understanding and sensitivity of the needs of her clients. Highly approachable, Arlene’s strong listening and questioning skills enable her to quickly grasp context and to focus on helping people to achieve positive results.
Arlene has provided consultation and coaching services for numerous senior managers on critical HR issues. Through her mentoring expertise, Arlene has provided encouragement, support and information that challenges thinking and enables individuals to clarify and expand upon their personal and professional goals.
At tertiary level, she has taught counselling skills, modifying and adapting interactive content to develop skills, change attitude and provide fresh insights.
Arlene brings to CDL extensive career development, motivation, outplacement and leadership experience, and is qualified to administer a range of psychometric and vocational based tools. She has provided coaching for number executives of the Australian Public Service who wish to progress their own careers at government level.
Arlene has a Bachelor of Arts Degree, a Masters of Career Development Coaching from Edith Cowan University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Special Education. She is a professional member of the Career Development Association of Australia.
